Michael joined the team at McDonald Leong Lawyers in 2014 whilst undertaking studies through James Cook University for a combined degree of Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Business (Majoring in Economics).

Having undertaken two years studying Medicine, Michael decided to change his focus and become a Solicitor. Michael was admitted to practice in 2015.

Michael practises primarily in Family Law and is passionate about assisting others through difficult times. Coming from a large extended family, Michael is aware of the challenges that families face on a daily basis. He is acutely aware of the stresses that can be placed on families when dealing with separation, and applies his skills and knowledge to assist his clients navigate through the legal system governing their separation.

Michael is known for his ability to prioritise and be proactive in progressing his clients’ matters to ensure the best outcome is achieved as quickly as possible – to allow families to move forward with their lives. His practical approach to resolving Family Law issues results in his clients being able to resolve even the most difficult disputes.

Michael is a keen basketball player and enjoys spending time undertaking sports and spending time with family and friends.

  • Graduate Degree in Legal Practice, the Australian National University, 2015
  • Legal Practitioner of the Supreme Court of Queensland since 2015;
  • Legal Practitioner of the High Court of Queensland since 2016;
  • Nationally Accredited Mediator since 2018.
